4K AERIAL FILMING & 20MP+ PHOTOGRAPHY

I am a Cambridgeshire based drone pilot who can produce amazing quality aerial drone photography and aerial filming covering Cambridgeshire including Ely, Huntingdon, Peterborough, Royston and Newmarket. Also further afield locations like Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Norfolk and Suffolk, parts of London and elsewhere in the UK using the latest GPS enabled multi-rotor DJI UAV drone quadcopters. I have the latest CAA qualification A2 CofC (A2 Certificate of Competency) which became effective from January 2021. I can help you produce cost-effective aerial cinematography and photography with shooting angles and reveals, previously only available on big budget productions.

Although I can fly as high as 400ft, I can capture dynamic shots which add great production value with skilled lower altitude flying. With my film making and video editing skills I am NOT just a drone pilot. I have the vision to create a series of shots that will tell your story in a cinematic way. Drones with their professional camera gimbal systems give you a wealth of manoeuvres and movements that can be visually eye catching, producing smooth video footage that flows. I have invested heavily in various DJI drones. Currently I own a Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Mini 2 drone (a small drone that shoots 4K, think the size of a smartphone!), because of their proven reliability, build quality, size and long flight times. I am constantly investing in the latest gear as this fast paced industry develops. Both my drones shoot ultra sharp HD 4K video and 12 - 20 megapixel still images or even 48 megapixel or more panoramic photos.

When I am flying I have a live HD video feed from the drone to the ground, allowing us to view and change in real time camera angles and setting from the ground. My DJI drones have the latest technology giving me specialist features such as circling points of interest using GPS technology at a constant height and speed to get the perfect shot if needed although I prefer to fly manually most of the time!

Drones can be used for a wide variety of photography and video services which include:

  • Aerial corporate videos for product launches, advertising, websites and promotion: Video content is a key component of any business digital marketing strategy. A short 30 second – two minute video gives the viewer an understanding of your business and an awareness of your products and services.

  • Aerial drone photography for Estate Agents: I can produce property photography and videos from the air and the ground for residential estate agents. Aerial videos and photographs help capture the scale of the property and can be included with an interior video of the property, along with land, gardens and surrounding shots, not possible with just ground-based video or photography (which I can also produce).

  • Commercial property aerial photography: As commercial agents if you are selling or leasing commercial property, there is now a cost effective way to produce stunning aerial photographs and videos of offices, retail parks, industrial units, factories, farms and land.

  • Events and sports aerial filming: Aerial photography and videography using a drone can now really show the sports, leisure, travel and tourism industries from an exciting and again an affordable angle, previously only available from expensive helicopter or manned aircraft shoots (you are talking £££’s!).

  • Tourism, travel, hotel and golf course aerial photography and video: Aerial photography and videography can really lift a marketing campaign for any tourist or leisure actives which can also be included with my ground-based video or photography packages.

  • Indoor aerial photography (yep I can fly indoors!): Yep I have even covered indoor sporting events in larger premises to give a unique view of the location.

I HAVE CAPTURED YOUR FOOTAGE. WHAT NEXT?

I can either shoot RAW photos or film D-log footage and you can to edit your own material or pass it on to your own photo or video production team. Or, I can offer my own professional video or photo editing services which can include text, motion tracking text to graphics as well as colour correction, colour grading services and add any music or sound effects to your video. I can also store all of your master footage for a period of time if requested at a small extra cost, which allows you to revisit and create extra edits when necessary, without the cost of a reshoot.

I am used to working with tight deadlines and offer a very quick turnaround from drone shooting to a finished video production. To learn more about my video editing services click here.

GOOD TO KNOW

The main operational conditions for an SUA are:

  • Maintaining a distance of 50m from people and property not in control of the pilot.

  • During take off and landing maintain a distance of 30m from people and property not in control of the pilot.

  • Permission of the landowner to take off and land.

  • Do not fly directly overhead or within a minimum distance of 150m from an open-air assembly of over 1000 people.

  • Fly to a maximum height of 400ft above ground level.

  • Maintain visual line of sight to a maximum distance of 500m.

  • Only fly during daylight hours, so that you can clearly see the SUA and take avoiding action from other air users if required.

  • Outside of controlled airspace.

  • Restrictions apply to certain areas of Central London and additional permissions to fly in these areas need to be sought from the CAA.

  • Restrictions and rules apply to flying near an airport and aerodrome.

I am fully insured against injury and damage with £1 million public liability to fly at altitudes of up to 400 feet.
